The Lewisville Fire Ants toppled the Tampico Stogies by a 9 to 5 score at the
ballpark.
Tampico was unable to recover after Lewisville went ahead in the bottom of the
4th inning scoring 4 runners on 5 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by
Michael Young who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he banged out a
single which was good for two runs. Lewisville and Tampico each finished the
afternoon with 11 hits.
The victory went to Brian Lawrence(7-5) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing 5
runs. The losing pitcher was Matt Riley(2-4). He allowed 10 hits and 4 walks
in 5 and 2/3 innings.
